Oregon Cottage is a cosy, open-plan, self-catering accommodation unit suitable for two.
It’s tucked away on the edge of a large, protected, indigenous riverine forest.

The forest is home to buck, prolific bird life and many other species of animals, which makes it a perfect hideaway for nature lovers and, in particular, birding enthusiasts. There are also a few beehives on our one acre property.

The building style is a fusion of contemporary brick and mortar with traditional ‘cob’ (clay) building methods.

The lounge/dining area and bedroom both have French doors that open onto a (weather permitting) sunny, north-facing patio. The undercover ‘braai’ area, plus a comfy hammock chair, creates a mellow space for outdoor enjoyment and ‘chillaxing’.

The galley-style kitchen has a fridge / freezer, gas stove with oven and a microwave plus most cooking equipment, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.

There is a queen sized bed, with 100 % cotton linen and towels supplied, a small lounge/dining room area, open plan and the bathroom has a shower, not a bath.Towels and beach towels are supplied.

Oregon Cottage is about 1,5 km from the beachfront. A minute or two by car, but not the easiest of walks, as there are a few steep hills on the way.

There is secure, off-street parking and wi-fi. We regret no pets or children.

Please note:
Mobile reception is poor and often not available in our area. We have a small solar system which means lights and fridge all work during loadshedding and there is a full gas stove and oven. As long as our internet service provider is not down, our wifi is operational during load shedding and power outages. Our solar geyser provides hot water when the sun is shining and is powered by Eskom on cloudy days.

2024 Rates:
Dec/Jan school holidays:
R1 100 per night
Minimum stay: 8 nights

Long Weekends:
R 800 per night

Rest of the year:
R 700 for 2 or more nights / R750 for 1 night

A minimum 2 night stay applies to all weekend bookings
